Overclocking with evga precision x 970
Overclocking with evga precision x 970

970 overclocks quite well so they dont have to be small but I at first I would go for around 100MHz on Core and 200 on memory. Most OC guides will advice to do it in smaller sstages for safety. I wouldnt go as far as nate with increasing it so much at first. Second thing is power limit, if you really want to overclock you increase it to the max which is 120%.Īnd now about core and memory clock. Oh and another question.I didnt get any help in my topic about my 970 Strix problems and ended up rmaing the card so maybe I can advice someone else.įirst of all my card that is under warranty now is 970 Strix OC, I am 100% certain you could add more voltage, all you had to do in Afterburner is to go to options and check "enable voltage control" and then slider in main windows is active so you can increase it, I think you could do around 37mV more than standard voltage but I wouldnt go for more than 10-20mV. I did put a check mark in settings, but it won't change it. I stopped putting a variable fan speed and keep it at a certain % now.Īnother question, msi afterburner, when I raise core voltage, it doesn't alter the voltage. 1509 with a downclock to 1493 with the TDP hitting 107% at the time. I'm guessing it's not enough voltage to run it at that clock without boosting the voltage. And the cap did say Perfcap PRW at that point and it did lower the voltage to 1175 at that point. Seems to happen when power consumption hit 108%. Made a run just now with 120 and 520 it hits 1499 mhz with a downclock to 1480 for a short time. That's what you meant, right? I switched to msi afterburner. The voltage in CPU-Z dives down, right before the crash as well. When it's on stock, it is 100% of the time on 1200. Click to expand. When I do my own OC, it shows the voltage 1175, instead of a full 1200.
